Власні проблеми спонукали її створити платформу для допомоги людям, які живуть з цим типом розладів. «Після того, як я пройшла через ці труднощі, я хотіла створити рішення все-в-одному, де кожен міг би знайти інформацію, ресурси та інструменти», — пояснила вона.
Її рішення називається AnxietyHelper. Додаток для телефону надає інформацію про тривогу, депресію та панічні атаки, а також інтерактивні інструменти, які допомагають користувачеві щодня почувати себе краще.
«У додатку є різні інструменти, які дозволяють дати собі раду на ходу, що як би інтегрує багато аспектів терапії», – сказала Саутворт.
Функціональні можливості програми — це «керований канал», який дозволяє користувачам ділитися своїми почуттями; і «кероване дихання», яке сприяє розслабленню через медитативні дихальні перерви. AnxietyHelper також допомагає користувачеві знайти служби психічної допомоги у разі кризи.

When she was in middle school, Amanda Southworth suffered with anxiety and depression. “This started for me back when I was in middle school, when I had a lot of issues regarding my own mental health, with depression and anxiety,” she said.
This motivated her to create a platform to help people who live with this type of disorders. “After I went through that, I wanted to create an all-in-one place where anybody could go and find information, resources, and tools,” she explained.
Her solution is called AnxietyHelper. The iPhone app provides information about anxiety, depression and panic attacks, as well as interactive tools that help the user cope with the disorder on a daily basis.
“The app has different tools that allow you to deal with mental health on the go, which kind of gamifies a lot of the aspects of therapy,” Southworth said.
Some of the app’s functionalities are the ‘guided vent’, which allows users to talk through their feelings; and the ‘guided breathing’, which promotes relaxation through meditative breathing breaks. AnxietyHelper also helps the user find mental health services in the case of a crisis.
The app is available for free on the Apply Store, and has received many positive reviews.
