About the author

Patrick Sullivan's career success was interrupted when he was diagnosed with heart failure. He spent 17 years battling heart health issues and underwent open-heart surgery to implant an LVAD due to a surgical error. Finally, he received a heart transplant on November 21, 2012. During this time, he formed a strong bond with Bob Romer, who faced similar challenges. Together, they founded the HeartBrothers to support others in similar situations.
