About the solution

Healostic isn’t just another app. It’s a support system. We offer people with eczema the option to connect with a dedicated care team of dermatologists, nutritionists, and therapists, who work with them to create a personalized plan that fits their lives. We also plan to build tools to help you track your symptoms, so you can see what’s working and what’s not. Poor mental health is both a trigger and a cause of eczema and we want to make sure that Healostic also supports patients with resources for mental wellbeing and a virtual community where patients can connect with others who are going through the same journey. We hope that Healostic can help people take back control of their lives. We’re still just getting started, but the response has been amazing so far. Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep growing our platform, expanding our community, and making sure that everyone with eczema feels supported and empowered. No one should have to go through this alone, and with Healostic, we’re making sure they don’t have to.

Bora, my co-founder, was my roommate during the time that I was bed-bound. She turned into my caretaker by helping me carry out daily tasks like washing my hair when my skin was too sore. Together, we spent hours researching to figure out what else we could do. After learning a lot about nutrition, and safe skin care practices, talking to a lot of people on Instagram who had eczema, and signing up for therapy, we started seeing a change in my condition. That is when we knew that we had to create a holistic solution for other people like me and came up with Healostic.

About the author

I've been dealing with severe eczema for as long as I can remember, but by the time I hit my 20s, things took a turn for the worse. The steroids that used to work stopped helping, and I found myself stuck in bed for weeks, waiting endlessly for dermatologist appointments that never seemed to come. During those long, painful weeks, I started realizing just how many gaps there were in the care I was receiving. I was not alone in this; 90 million Europeans with chronic skin conditions like mine were facing the same struggles.
