Hip & co- a mum's invention for hip dysplasia

When Elle was seven months old, she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. This was far later than usual, as she had been screened for it at birth and in subsequent follow-up consultations, which meant that the first line of treatments (less invasive) wasn’t even considered. At this point, her condition was so severe, that she needed to have hip surgery as soon as possible, which rendered her in a spica cast for three months and a brace for nine months, in 2018. These contraptions were rather big, as they went underneath their armpits and down to their ankles which were like having a broken leg but it takes up the whole body.
As Elle grew up, she wanted to become more and more mobile, play with her toys and even eat independently, but due to her spica brace, she wasn't able to sit down at a regular table and chair, which frustrated not only Elle but also her mother, Bree.
This motivated Bree to start searching for a table that could accommodate her daughter's condition, to which she was fortunate enough to receive a second-hand bulky table that could help Elle be more independent. Although this was exactly what she was looking for, the thing that struck her the most was the fact that these types of tables weren't readily available to purchase anywhere, as there wasn't an efficient way to send them across the country to their sheer size and weight.
This is when the eureka moment struck, by making it a flat pack and easy to assemble with no tools or screws needed, she could send them anywhere! This is how hip & co came to life!
The table has three height configurations and open sides to allow children in casts of all sizes to use the table, wheels and brakes allow the table to be moved easily around the home and the front panel opens to accommodate siblings and friends!
