Man creates device to help to put on socks, shoes and even trousers

Shared by Marie Esmenio on 2014-10-28 16:42

About the solution

After a knee surgery, trs5 was stuck in a straight knee brace for about two months. Unable to bend his knee, he found it difficult to do simple tasks like putting on socks, shoes, and even pants. This problem inspired him to create a simple low tech device that could assist people in the same situation. It could even be used to assist elderly people who have lost the flexibility in their knees and back making them unable to reach their feet.

He hopes that it can be recreated and used to help people unable to bend their knees or back due to surgery or loss of flexibility.

He created this device with a long pole, a spacer, two clothes hangers with clips and one shoehorn.
