About the solution
When David's daughter was born, he suffered tremendously with chronic back pain, which stopped him to pick up and bend down to reach his kid. This meant that, with Suzi, his wife, being completely bedridden after a rather complicated delivery, taking care of their daughter was very hard and quite complicated.
This is when the eureka moment was achieved, all while David would lay his daughter on a blanket and gather it up in a bundle around her and then simply pick her up, a new invention came to life! And as simple as this seems, this was sufficient to birth a new way of living.
In 2011 Dave teamed up with Mike Edwards, his good friend, neighbor, and designer, who with his wife Heidi, worked out the best way to fully support the baby’s head, neck and safely protect the crown. The strength of the handles was paramount, but it also had to look good, be functional, and durable.
In the following months, they made hundreds of prototypes in different sizes, lengths, and materials, and after much feedback, from new parents, a new baby-lifting wrap was finally born, The Snugglebundl!
The Snugglebundl baby wrap works in a similar way to a hammock, pulling up around the baby to support the head, neck and spine and the padded hood carefully protects the baby's crown. It then ties at the front to be used as a snug wrap garment. The extra strength support handles mean that you can safely and securely lift up or place down your baby with just one hand!
