Mother invents harness to help her son with reflux

Shared by ArielSebastian on 2014-01-13 20:06

About the solution

In order to help her son cope with this condition, Terry developed Tucker Sling, in the 90’s, a 30-degree harness created to reduce reflux episodes in babies while asleep. The harness was designed to be used in combination with a freestanding reflux wedge allowing the baby to sleep safely and securely on the Wedge either on his side, tummy or back, reducing reflux episodes.
“The sling was designed specifically to serve as an infant positioning system for babies who suffer from acid reflux or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, sinus or ear infections, colds, or pulmonary conditions, but it can be used for any baby at home or in a hospital needing to be elevated face up or on their side,” the inventor said.
Terry founded her own company – Tucker Desings, Ltd – and she had the invention approved by the FDA.
