About the solution
A group of college students from Instituto Superior Técnico, in Lisbon, created “EPIs contra o COVID-19” (PPE against COVID-19) an online quiz that is meant to help people understand how to correctly wear personal protective equipment. The quiz is available on the Kahoot platform and is comprised of 12 questions, carefully selected so that the public has access to “interactive and didactic information, in order to be able to properly wear PPE, thereby protecting themselves and others”, explained Luciane Eichelt, one of the creators of the game.
The question where chosen after thorough research to find out the most common doubts and misinformation regarding the use of PPR. “We are constantly dealing with so much information that we often don’t know if it is really reliable and trustworthy. For this reason, we have been very careful to check our sources, and we mention that in the video”, says Sara Coutinho, another member of the development team.
Luciane, Sara and Safa Al-karam , had the idea of creating the game at the end of February 2020, following the spread of the new coronavirus from China to the rest of the World.
The quiz and accompanying video are available in Portuguese, English and Arabic and has been used as a resource by teachers in Portugal and the USA.
