Virtual keyboard for the disabled

Shared by Jorge Cohen on 2014-04-01 17:33

About the solution

The sister could operate a Trackball and click but that was about it. She couldn’t type in a regular keyboard and often got stuck because of this. Click-N-Type was born to help her deal with this situation.

After spending several days searching for ‘On Screen Virtual Keybords’, the creator of Click-N-Type realized that there wasn’t one that suited her needs. There were some free programs, some ‘Buy now, see if it works later’, but none worked for the quadriplegic sister.

"Click-N-Type is an on-screen virtual keyboard designed to provide computer accessibility to anyone with a disability that prevents him or her from typing on a physical computer keyboard. As long as the physically challenged person can control a mouse, trackball, touch screen or other pointing device, this adaptive software keyboard allows you to send keystrokes to virtually any Windows application or DOS application that can run within a window", it says on the official website.

Click-N-Type is free and comes in many different languages.
