Dental patients create Empident, a platform for people to track their oral health easily

Empident emerged from a recognized need for improved oral health solutions. Originating from the frustration experienced by patients attempting to adhere to dentist recommendations independently, the startup identified prevalent issues within the field.

Two primary challenges were identified: inadequate communication between patients and dental professionals, and the absence of support for patients managing their oral health at home. Empident wanted to address these challenges by establishing a smoother connection between dental practices and patients, facilitating continuous care and assistance.

Empident's approach is pragmatic, delivered through a comprehensive digital solution in the form of a mobile app. This allows users to sync their home oral care with dentist recommendations, enabling them to monitor their health, track risks, and receive guided instructions seamlessly. The incorporation of technology such as the "Empident Dental Camera" with AI detection enhances real-time monitoring of oral health status, providing users with a holistic view of their dental care journey.

The startup's solutions, including the integration of patent-pending biomarker tracking technology, are currently under development in collaboration with prophylaxis experts and users. Empident provides individuals with the tools to recognize risky areas, set goals, track progress, and receive personalized reports for improved oral health management. Their mission is to enhance oral health outcomes and empower individuals to take charge of their dental care.
