About the solution

The Global hack is an online hackathon designed to share and rapidly develop ideas for solutions in the face of the current crisis, as well as to build resilience post-pandemic.

There are 12 tracks team can choose from to develop their solutions, based on the Sustainable development goals of the United Nations. The teams work on the platform Slack to brainstorm and create their solutions before sharing them with the community.

The goal of the hackathon is to come up with solutions that will help fight future pandemics, and all crises more efficiently. The hackathon is managed by volunteers and includes also mentors that help the various teams with suggestions during the hackathon days.

Organising partners include both national, international, and global organisations from all around the world. Global Hack is a global initiative which unites the Hack the Crisis movement and the 40+ hackathons put up in the frame of this movement. The core initiative comes from the Estonian Garage48 first hackathon.
