About the solution
Youtube user StupotMcDoodlepip created a Social Distancing Laser Hat to help people maintain the correct distance between each other, to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
The device consists of a rigid hat on top of which there is a rotating laser that draws a 2-meter wide circle on the ground, around the wearers, allowing them to see whenever someone gets too close. The laser used is a 1mW Class 1 laser, which is not harmful to the eyesight.
The hat can be easily made from easy to find material and some 3D-printed parts. On the Youtube video, the innovator shares a step-by-step guide on how to assemble the device and on the description there is a complete list of materials and comprehensive set of instruction. He also provides the design files for the 3D-printed parts for anyone interested in replicating the hat.
