Teen with OCD develops app to help others

JoanaSaraiva 于 2019-08-04 13:43 分享

About the solution

Due to the disease, she experienced obsessive thoughts and problems during therapy. "During therapy, I was asked to keep a diary to note down any behaviour that I have been repeating constantly. But there would be times when I didn't have the diary with me or I would tell myself that maybe I don't need to jot it down. This behaviour hampered my therapy and in turn affected my routine", said Kaajal.

That is when she decided to create an app to help others who, like her, suffer from OCD. She joined one therapist and 10 other teenagers suffering from OCD to brainstorm ideas for the app. In November 2018 she launched Liberate: My OCD Fighter.

The app is available for free at Google Play and has had over 1000 downloads. It has so far received several positive reviews: "I'm so happy I found this app. I've only had it a week and I'm already getting control of my OCD. I love the worry time feature and all the exercises. I've become more aware of my triggers and I'm slowly working through them.", Kristina Roppo, one of the users of the app, said.
