Now&Me - Two college friends create an app to promote mental well-being

About the solution

The prevalence of mental health conditions is increasing worldwide and around 20% of the world’s children and adolescents have one, which is alarming. Mental health conditions have a substantial impact on all areas of life, such as school or work performance, relationships with family and friends, and the ability to be an active member of the community.

Bani Singh and Drishti Gupta, both graduated college in May 2019 with a degree in statistics from Delhi University. While they were still studying they had an idea for an app that could reduce the burden given by so many mental health issues. After witnessing the people close to them going through some problems in life, without having an outlet to vent their worries, Bani and Drishti tested a concept amongst peers to overcome these challenges.

Now&Me was then born, an online safe space that’s bridging the gap between people, their problems, and someone who wants to hear them and lend a helping hand. This venture believes in the power of human experiences and the community, opening up a space where people feel free to share their experiences and emotions without the fear of being judged. The portal also publishes blogs and videos to raise awareness about pressing issues related to mental health.

The long-term goal of the service is to integrate good professional help in the platform along with its existing endeavors towards mental health and its affordability, availability, and accessibility.

The motto is that everyone is going through something in life, and everyone needs a shoulder to lean on and Now&Me can act as that shoulder.

The app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
