Father creates app for son to inform about accessibilities

About the solution

So Carlos created an app called Eu Chego Lá (I get there). This app, designed to help wheelchair users and other disabled people to have information about the accesses of event places, restaurants, bars, hotels, malls, etc.

“We talked with the basketball team, in wheelchairs from Brusque, and did other interviews in Florianópolis. Basically, that sort of information doesn’t exist. They want to go out to grab a beer, or go to the theatre, and they just don’t know if that place has the conditions to serve them. So they always end up to go to the same places”, explained the father.

It all started to gain shape when Carlos Augusto, and his wife Graziela Alperstedt, Henrique’s mother, saw how disappointed their son was when he found out he couldn’t go to the Kiss concert, in Florianópolis, in April 2015. It was very hard to get information about the accessibility of the place where the band would play.

Henrique can walk, using crutches, but the problem is to stand for a very long time, since his legs don’t have a lot of strength. “I can use crutches. But the problem is that is very hard, specially for people in wheelchairs, to go to several places where they don't know if they'll have conditions".

The app will be launched in 2016.
