About the solution
The motivation behind AC Health comes from Susannah Bailin’s personal experience recovering from two frozen shoulders. While undergoing physical therapy, she was frustrated with the standard treatment tools available — paper diagrams and generic video exercises that didn’t address her personal needs. The lack of personalized guidance, coupled with challenges like missing instructions and difficulty remembering exercises, prompted her to think there must be a better way to manage rehabilitation at home.
This led to the creation of AC Health, a HIPAA-compliant platform designed to change the way patients interact with their treatment plans. The app offers a user-friendly, secure space where patients can access custom exercises and videos tailored to their needs. The app has a focus on personalized features, including behavioral triggers, reminders, and incentives to help patients stay motivated and compliant with their rehabilitation programs.
The app also allows communication between patients and providers. Providers can send videos, photos, and text instructions to their patients, ensuring they always have access to the exact guidance they need. The app’s AI-driven features also collect patient data, offering providers valuable insights to improve treatment protocols and optimize outcomes.
Launched with physical therapists in mind, AC Health has since expanded to serve a variety of medical specialties. It operates across all four U.S. time zones and serves a diverse network of healthcare providers, from national clinics to independent mobile therapists. Since its launch, the app has seen significant engagement, with providers uploading 20,000 instructions in its first year. By saving providers 10–20 hours per week and delivering an intuitive, patient-centered experience, AC Health offers a scalable solution for modern healthcare challenges.
