About the solution
After watching several family members endure cancer and not having the correct care and support through their journey, Hua Wang knew that something had to change. Although she had no medical background, she understood that there was a need for sufferers to have guidance directly from oncologists on how they and their families could best navigate the best treatment for them.
This is when she quit her lawyer job and started developing Smartbridge Health! This telemedicine platform allows patients to have at their fingertips, three key services: phone consultations to ask doctors questions ahead of appointments rather than Googling down rabbit holes; acquiring expert second opinions because people in rural areas don’t always have access to cancer specialists, and finally having a navigation service to connect patients with cancer clinical trials available to them.
The patient just needs to tell them about their medical condition and story, after that they will, with previous consent, collect their medical records and an oncologist will review the information. After 7 days, they will then send the Expert Opinion.
SmartBridge Health is currently available in over 150 countries, covering all time zones, and is fluent in all the major languages. The process of collecting medical records is the only step that is different for patients outside of the U.S.
