About the solution
“We created CareZare because we are family caregivers. When our family matriarch, Nannie, was diagnosed with dementia, we leapt into action. But it quickly became apparent that we were facing a steep learning curve. We needed to climb it, fast, all while figuring out how to share the burden of care, manage professional caregivers, maintain our lives as parents, kids, professionals and students, and, most importantly, provide the world’s best possible care to keep Nannie safe and happy”, the inventor explained.
The app, available for iOS and Android aims to empower caregivers by bringing together care team members (family members, professional caregivers, other services, etc.,), by helping to come up with plans, schedules and tracking caregiving activities in real time. It allows the caregiver to have assigned tasks and update needs. This way, the user can be informed, all the time, about their loved one's status.
Logan and his parents founded their own company to further develop and commercialize this product.
“While the initial CareZare release is targeted for families/individual care teams, it can still be leveraged by caregiving companies,” said Eric Wells, Logan’s father.
The plans for this software include making it available as a platform so that it can link the users to wearables and other healthcare technologies.
The app has a subscription of $9.95 per month and is based on the number of people being cared for (the team size is unlimited) and has a free 30-day trial for new users.
