About the solution
Pheal improves the quality of life of Cystic Fibrosis patients while saving on healthcare costs by using a new medical monitoring solution based on prevention, new technologies and a strong partnership between the healthcare team and the patient, who becomes his own daily care provider and the pilot of his care.
In France, the Cystic Fibrosis patient sees his health care team every 3 months for a follow up visit to the hospital. However, the rest of the time he is at home, left to himself with all the problems related to his follow up. Because he can only rely on his own feelings, he will often wait too long before referring the problem to his health care team. In the long term this is largely the reason for the irremediable and unilateral evolution of the disease that we know today, with the ultimate solution being transplantation.
In summary, the current monitoring mode, based on a response to strong signals, exposes patients to delays in treatment leading to a deterioration in health status and an iteration in quality of life these factors are accompanied by an increase in the cost and a decrease in the efficiency of care.
The first part of the solution consists in installing connected devices directly in patients' homes in order to allow them to take, in autonomy, relevant objective data on their health. These data, completed by subjective data corresponding to patient reported outcomes, are discussed with the doctor in order to define, together, alert thresholds and processes to be triggered. They can be consulted at any time via our mobile and web applications by the patient himself who can share it with his healthcare team.
In a second step, the health care team receives notifications of abnormal measurements detected by the system and can then respond with a message, an appointment or even a new prescription. Finally, to go further, the goal is to offer a customizable display in order to make it a useful and efficient tool both for the patient in his daily follow up and for the doctor in a multi patient follow up. This is why we have been working for more than 2 years with patients, doctors and physiotherapists to design the most suitable solution for everyone.
We position ourselves as a patient focused third party player in the health sector, aiming to make current players interact through a service and prevention approach.
