The only solution they found suitable for the wheelchair was actually meant for sunbeds, but at least it protected his face. In order to expand the protection to his upper body, they developed a new roof that is adjustable in many ways.

Family Veeh has always made a lot of music at home, either with violin, cello or harmonium. Calramon has always been interested in 3D printing. His interest arose from the Disney film “Big Hero 6”. When he met Nick in a library, he decided to take the challenge and assisted by his father and his brother, he developed a prosthetic hand for the man, printed on their own 3D printer.

A group of Nick’s friends has been searching for a way to help him by developing a 3D printed prosthesis for him. They had already started to work with “Enabling the Future”, a platform which enables users to use their own 3D printer at home by providing open source blueprints.

Sabine Engel, a German mother, developed a first aid kit for her son Benedikt, who is restricted in his daily life due to Asthma attacks.

To instruct other people how to help her son in case of Asthma attacks, the design of the kit was adapted to laymen. It consists of an illustrated instruction how to help in emergencies, crucial medication and the power of attorney.

“The teachers did not know how to help him, so they either sent him home, called me to pick him up or even called the ambulance to take him to a hospital”, Benedikt’s mother says.

Philipp Heist, a German inventor, could hardly leave his house, due to his progressive osteoarthritis. A wheelchair was no option and so he developed the “Gehrad”, a walking aid to become more mobile and autonomous again.
