About the solution
Honor was founded in 2014, born from Seth Sternberg’s personal journey to address a pressing challenge he faced when his mother began showing signs of slowing down. Concerned about how best to ensure her safety and quality of life while maintaining her independence, a challenge widely common in our aging society, Seth realized how difficult it was to find reliable, high-quality care solutions. This personal motivation became the driving force behind Honor’s mission: to expand the world’s capacity to care for seniors and their families.
At the core of the solution there is the Honor Family App, which allows families to stay connected with the caregiving process no matter where they are. The app provides real-time updates on caregiver arrivals and departures, detailed care notes, and task completion summaries. Families can also schedule visits, make changes to care plans, and receive reminders about upcoming visits—all from a single platform.
For aging adults, Honor ensures a highly personalized care experience by using advanced matching algorithms to pair them with the most compatible Care Professionals (Care Pros). It also provides families with educational resources tailored to the unique challenges of chronic conditions such as Alzheimer’s and COPD, helping them better support their loved ones.
On the healthcare provider side, the solution creates a supportive work environment through the Honor Care Pro App. This app equips caregivers with real-time client information, task lists, and care updates, enabling them to deliver consistent, high-quality service. Honor also offers comprehensive training, competitive employment benefits, and growth opportunities to its Care Pros, reinforcing its commitment to both caregivers and clients.
In 2021, Honor expanded its reach by acquiring Home Instead, the world’s largest global home care franchise network, which was also inspired by the personal experiences of its founders. This partnership allowed Honor to combine its innovative technology platform with Home Instead’s extensive network of local agencies, creating a powerful synergy to provide reliable, empathetic care on a global scale.
