Trexo, walking towards independent mobility.

Carolina Piedade 于 2021-05-06 12:15 分享

About the solution

When Manmeet learned that his nephew was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, he knew that his life would have severe mobility limitations due to this disease. This event ignited something in Manmeet and his family, catapulting them in to a rabbit hole of "exoskeletons" that were only available for adults, leaving the children to fend for themselves in improving their quality of life.

Without the ability to walk, active children become sedentary and can impact in their physical wellbeing, since being seated for long periods of time, can increase their chances of having blood clots or vein thrombosis, but also since they are children before they are patients, they still need to run around and enjoy playing with everything.

All of this sparked Manmeet and his friend Rahul, two robotics students, to tackle this problem and provide to all children "exoskeletons" so that they could experience independent walking for the first time. With this in mind, Trexo was born! This device provides a complete "exoskeleton" designed with the specific child and their shortcomings in mind, which with the help of simple tablet that is controlled by the parent , allows for complete control and at the same time complete freedom, both for the caregiver and the patient.

Trexo's robotics has allowed multiple children all over the planet to walk, and explore life to the fullest, where before they would be stuck at home, seating and not enjoying their young years!
