About the solution
Marcela Guimoye's daughter, Camila Chang, suffers from autism.
Knowing what it is like to grow a daughter with this disease, Marcela saw how Camila had severe behavioral problems and struggled to learn how to talk. "During summer time, there was no place that could accept her because of her behaviors", Marcela said.
Soon Marcela noticed how her daughter improved with music. This inspired her to create Endless Brain, a music camp with several programs specifically made for children with autism or related diseases. The camp includes mindfulness, musical, theatrical, and artistic activities.
The goal of Endless Brain is to help children with autism reach their potential through music. "Our goal is to teach individuals to tune into the power of their musical expression, while unlocking their potential in other areas, including self-confidence, mindfulness, and self-awareness. We want to integrate this concept among families of children on the autism spectrum and other related disorders, as a way to help alleviate some of the difficulties of their day-to-day living", can be read on the official website.
Lisa Goes, the mother of Noah, who enrolled in the camp, said "For them to just express who they are in the world, it's just the greatest gift we could ask for."
