The app encourages logging daily feelings and observations, facilitating the identification of patterns that can be shared with healthcare professionals during appointments. Before medical visits, patients can generate comprehensive reports summarizing their health status, ensuring discussions focus on the most relevant issues.
Genia is designed for observations, reflections, and sharing within families living with long-term illness while allowing patients to control what information they share with healthcare providers. This information can be co-created into care goals and plans, promoting mutual learning and shared decision-making.
As a secure digital platform, Genia allows individuals to manage their health information privately. Users maintain complete control over their data, deciding what to share and with whom, which fosters meaningful collaboration with healthcare providers. Currently, the Genia patient support system is in early use at all four cystic fibrosis centers in Sweden and is integrated with other health information systems used in clinical practice.
