About the solution
When Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer, at age 36, she felt, like many women who go through the same situation, scared and overwhelmed. Due to her disease, she underwent a modified radical mastectomy.
After leaving the hospital, she realized that she did not have anything to wear and, after searching in the market at the time, she could not find any healing-specific types of garment.
That is when Linda came up with her invention. She designed a special camisole for women who have just undergone mastectomy.
Softee follows typical blouse sizing and is made of a soft type of fabric, which does not irritate the surgical site.
On the front, it has a Roo pocket, allowing an easy and convenient management of up to four drain bulbs, by securely holding them in place. When not being needed, the pocket lies flat and it comfortable to use.
The removable polypill breast forms can be customized for size and are attached to the hidden Velcro strips.
The patient is able to step into the garment instead of having to raise their arms, and it also easily slips off the shoulders, making it easy to undress or allow doctor examinations.
It is made of poly/cotton memory fabric. Since it is hypoallergenic and latex free, patients with latex allergies or skin sensitivities can safely use it.
There are several sizes available from Petite to XX-Large and the design secures that Softee stays secure during activity and movement.
The products are handmade in the USA and covered by Medicare and other insurance companies. The Softee products are widely recognized and recommended by surgeons for patients post mastectomy.
She created her own company names Ladies First, Inc. in 1990. In 2013, Linda retired from the company and left it in the hands of Zenana-Renee Rose, who continued to grow the distribution under the guidance of Linda. Since July 2016, the product lines have been owned by the Royal Arms Medical.
The Softee products can currently be bought on the official website.
