About the solution
The Mya Care caregiving startup was created by Suman, Manish Menda, and their father Ramesh in 2018. The idea of creating this platform went into their minds after family’s own experience with healthcare in different countries. Manish and his father Ramesh traveled a lot for medical purposes and while travelling, they had a lot of questions from people abroad who require medical assistance about the places to visit for certain procedures, especially if these procedures needed specific equipment. After gathering all the information and request from the people, Manish and Ramesh Menda realized how difficult the healthcare journey may be. The actual name of the startup has strong greek mythology roots as Maia is the mother of god Hermes and seen as an honoured and nursing mother, who strongly protected her and her adopted children.
The founders say that with this startup they are trying to create an ecosystem where patients can look for hospitals and doctors and contact them directly through the platform. On top of that, they also provide information about certain procedures on their blog, so patients can educate themselves on different aspects of healthcare.
Looking at Mya Care’s website myacare.com, patients can easily learn details about doctors or healthcare providers and contact them directly. Alternatively, patients can route the inquiries through Mya Care. Besides information about doctors and hospitals, additional medical services can be found on the website. However, “Plan your trip” not only involves information in the medical sphere.
The founders try to look at the whole journey a patient might take. For instance, if a patient looks for healthcare in Germany, the first thing they do is look for the hospitals and the doctors there. But they need to know a few more things along the way. They might need to know which hotel is nearby the hospital or they might need home care after the procedure. One of the startup’s goals is to provide all the things along the line for the patient, so they get everything they might need. This part of the service is a paid one. Still, the platform allows making an appointment with a healthcare specialist free of charge.
