About the solution
I’m Claudia Pisano and I invented, with the help of my father, this unique passive physical rehabilitation device that allows my son Riccardo, who is almost 15 years old, to walk.
In fact, despite the severe brain damage and the consequent accentuated hypertonicity, his joints are elastic and without calcification. Thanks to the RiccaVita™ passive physical rehabilitation device, he keeps his body always loose and vital. my e-mail: claudia@futurainnovazioni.it
Riccardo inspired me to improve his quality of life by developing this device; over time, it occurred to me that the device could be useful for other children and adults suffering from muscular paralysis or other causes of immobility.
The lack of movement in people with physical impairment is a real big and urgent problem because, in a few months, immobility can become a real big problem.
The main aim of using RiccaVita™ is to improve a patient’s quality of life by increasing or improving their skills repertoire, maintaining functional level, minimizing contractures and deformities through the reduction of the effects of abnormal muscle or postural tone. RiccaVita™ helps people with muscle weakness by moving their body and maintaining muscle length through physical activity.
With RiccaVita™ walking is natural and while standing, it support our body’s exercising our arms and legs and stretching out the diaphragm, and joints and also really helps strengthens bones, prevent contractures, pressure sores and improve circulation, bowel, bladder function and kidneys because RiccaVita works on gravity and when a person becomes increasingly sedentary or wheelchair bound they don’t get that normal motion.
RiccaVita™ can be used outdoor if you want to breathe fresh air and in your apartment on a dedicated trainer exercise stand too. After walking, you can use RiccaVita™ as a stander and I can apply a tray that is a nice surface for reading books, doing your homeworks, or listening to music, keeping your head up.
With RiccaVita™ around you, you are not always sitting in a wheelchair or lying in bed, in fact walking changes our perspective on life and the world around us, being upright allows us to address people eye to eye and increase your energy level.
Another significant aspect of RiccaVitaTM passive physical rehabilitation device, is that the user can walk forward and backward.
Backward walking, also called “retro walking,” has been used to rehabilitate knee injuries and as a way to prevent injury. Japanese health researcher Junji Takano says that it strengthens the heart, lungs, muscles, joints, hips, legs and trunk and may be a useful rehabilitation approach, providing novel gait and balance challenges.
Please share and spread the word about RiccaVita™ and its benefits.... Thank you!
RiccaVita™ is dedicated to you, who never gives up and... with RiccaVita™ things are going to happen.
