Mind Controlled Fan for ALS or Paralyzed patients

Bhuvnesh Tanwar 于 2015-09-25 07:28 分享

About the solution

So with no muscular movement the person can do small chores like turning On a fan or AC or TV.

The setup requires the patient to wear an EEG headset and concentrate for a few seconds on the object. The headset then captures the live electrical brainwaves and sends these brainwaves to a computer application for analysis. If the recorded concentration values reaches the set threshold values of concentration Then a control signal is sent to a microprocessor attached to the fan and thus turns it On. Turning it off requires the same procedure.

关于发明者

I saw a man in my neighborhood who was completely bed ridden due to paralysis. He could not even pickup a glass of water for himself, completely dependent on others for everything. A person who always lived on his own terms was now helpless. I really wanted to do something for that guy to bring a genuine little smile of happiness on his face. So I came up with this project that uses a persons' EEG (electrical impulses generated in brain) signals also called brainwaves from his head to switch on a fan.
