Re-inventing the way children with autism learn through visual tools

Amélie Jézabel ... 于 2017-11-27 11:52 分享

About the solution

Everything started with a personal experience. Inspiration came after the diagnosis of our little cousin. With him, we quickly discovered that children with autism are « Visual Learners » and need visual support as images, photos or pictograms to learn easily and to work in autonomy. We first designed for him a story with pictograms to teach him how to go alone to the toilet, « The underpants of Joe ». When we shared it online, thousands of families and professionals from all around the world, started writing us saying, "Thank you, thank you for sharing this material".

At this moment, we realized the fact that creation of digital tools, visual learning, pictogram accessibility as well as social awareness are still today a big challenge!
Because of the lack of effective solutions, and because we understood children learn at their own pace, Miriam and I decided to devote our time and creativity to respond to this huge social demand. Since the beginning, with the collaboration of experts, educators and families, we are working to develop and democratize the digital tools to do it!

What started at home 5 years ago, today has become a tech nonprofit organization which facilitates children with autism access to the tools they need to develop their full potential. To date, 20 visual e-books and interactive apps with pictograms have been developed, reaching 1 million children around the world using it.
