About the solution
The inventor was inspired by his grandparents, who were unable to get up from the sofa on their own.
Stand-a-Roo is a lightweight, foldable and portable metal aid that goes underneath the sofa cushion and works by allowing the arms to rise through the gaps.
"It is truly amazing that a simple device like Stand-A-Roo ® can make such a huge difference in someone's life. Our testing has shown that Stand-A-Roo ® not only helped people stand and sit, but did it safely. Because of the simple innovative design that eliminated the use of legs that use the floor as support you never have to worry about tripping. Stand-A-Roo(R) is the only device of its kind. And because of its sturdy padded arms that fit perfectly between the cushions, Stand-A-Roo ® helps you sit down as well as helps you stand up," says Silver.
The invention doesn’t require assembly, and is already being used by healthcare professionals.
Adam launched a Kickstarter campaign to developed with product, which is available in two versions: For being used with one arm or, or with two arms.
The device can be bought online for $49 dollars.
