Named for being the “friendly wheelchair,” Thieme met with many organizations, such as the MS Society, to explain the Amigo’s benefits and functionality.

Al sells different types of scooters and accessories that can be customized according to the user’s needs.

Al Thieme, born in USA, started working in the evenings, after his day job, to create an innovative form of mobility for a family member who had lost her mobility due to multiple sclerosis. Al founded Amigo, in 1968, a company that builds a complete line of power operated vehicles/mobility scooters and accessories.
