About the solution
Biju is an electrician who got frustrated by having his legs paralyzed, and being unable to work like before. Also inspired by seeing, on the television, that the sophisticated US President’s plane was being navigated by the pilot just by using one hand, with only a few fingers, he decided to take action.
“I got hooked to the idea of having small movements controlling big things”, he explained.
So he started talking with car mechanics, and building prototypes to find a way to drive a car using only one hand.
After a lot of effort, trial and error, he succeeded, five prototypes later, having spent about 418 EUR. He incorportated the retrofitment kit in his car and it worked.
The solution is intented to help people who have limitations on their lower limbs. It works in a way in which retrofitting brake, accelerator and clutch controls can be actuated with a single hand.
The innovation can be adapted into any car model, and is ergonimic and comfortable. It costs about 33.000 EUR.
Biju was honored wtih several awards by his invention. “Where there is a will, there is a way”, he said.
