About the solution
Through our experiences we want to allow patients to "get out" of the room and/or the situation they are living in the hospital or in a treatment and reconnect with more pleasant experiences, thanks to the "trick" that our brain actually experiences that we are in the place we are seeing, using good 360/VR glasses.
The aim of our project is to develop new 360/AR/VR experiences to respond to different hospital challenges and to evaluate the impact of the experiences we produce on patients' emotional well-being through medical investigations that include the analysis of vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation), stress-related metabolic changes (cortisol, cortisone and metabolites) and those related to well-being and depression (serotonin, melatonin, kynurenine) through metabolomic analysis.
All the experiences we propose are adapted to the physical and emotional conditions of the patients so as not to create dizziness, consider the patient's position and ability to move, and also consider the specific treatment to which the patients are subjected, and factors such as duration and whether it involves physical contact such as punctures or application of respirators or other medical devices. Considering all these factors, we create immersive experience with a camera (insta 360 in 8K quality stereo format) combined with virtual environments created by us and with added elements of interactivity that relate to the specific therapeutic situation to which the patient is exposed.
We have developed an App for the simultaneous visualization of the content on the glasses for the patients and on a tablet for the healthcare staff, in which the healthcare staff can play/pause/stop the content displayed by the patient and see where the patient's attention is going.
Our dream is to bring to as many people as possible - regardless of gender, origin, economic conditions - the possibility to live relaxing experiences during a painful and traumatic treatment, reconnect with nature and loved ones while they are bound in a hospital or care center, accompany a rehabilitation treatment giving more motivation, increase the patient's knowledge about a medical treatment that causes them stress and anxiety, and explore all the possibilities in which immersive experiences can be useful and effective to increase the sense of tranquility and well-being in patients, thus humanizing therapies.
This is why we work every day with physicians and patients to create new experiences that help patients experience their treatment and hospital stay in a less traumatic way.
