Pain Relief without drugs

Jorge Cohen 于 2014-04-01 16:22 分享

About the solution

Amy’s son was going through traumatic routine vaccinations and to minimize his suffering, she invented the Buzzy, a pain blocker.

Buzzy is a reusable pain device that provides pain relief, in a natural way. With Buzzy, the nerves are overwhelmed with benign cold and vibration. Just like when you jiggle a jaw or you put a finger under cold water, these feelings dull or eliminate sharp pain from either vaccines or burning from medications.

"It started when my four year old son had a horrible experience with shots. I had distraction toys and numbing cream, and he was calm and knew what to expect. When the time came for his immunizations, the needle wielding fiend skewered my son with a fierce glance and told him creams didn’t work and he better sit-there-and-be-still or this would really hurt. It did. Thereafter, he would become ill before and after a trip to the doctor", explained the inventor.

Amy started working on her ideia. "After lots of messy attempts, I had a eureka moment with a vibrator and frozen peas. The prototypes combining cell phone motors and ice cubes worked three times better than commercial numbing creams for my children, and I decided to take the plunge", she recalled.

Later, she started prototyping and filled for a patent. The product was then launched in 2009.

The Buzzy has FDA approval.
