About the solution
After being diagnosed, the treatment was to use a mask on his face connected to an air pump called a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). But Collin struggled a lot to sleep using this device, because he needed one that was customized to his own face.
Using his background in engineering and his creativity, Collin built a more adaptive and comfortable mask – TrueFit.
“The TrueFIT mask is a personally moulded sleep apnoea mask that exactly fits the unique contours of each patient’s face. This gives the mask an extremely precise seal which delivers both increased comfort and improved therapy.
Made from a hypoallergenic medical grade silicone, the mask is quite firm and includes two small nostril protrusions which extend about four or five mm into the nose. These protrusions form the main seal of the mask along with a small ring about ½mm high that slightly depresses the flesh at the entrance to the nostril”.
