About the solution
Virgilio Bento's brother had to go to Cuba 20 years ago to receive cheap physiotherapy as he recovered from a life-threatening car crash back home in Portugal. This meant multiple trips back and forth to a different country, leaving behind the comfort of his home and his routine. This presented new and challenging struggles to his brother, as affordable therapy meant a lot of adaptability capacity,
These struggles of his brother would inspire innovation by Vergilio.
Taking into consideration the challenges, Vergilio began to develop a technology that uses body sensors and artificial intelligence for his doctorate in electronic engineering, All while accomplishing this, Vergilio also tapped into a niche that wasn't explored, thus aligning his research to his brother's struggles and a new and exciting way to treat MSK disorders, and this is how SWORD HEALTH began!
SWORD HEALTH is composed of three distinct areas of approach (with all being integrated into the care of the patient):
The first step is to ASK a PT™, who is 24/7 available, and that can answer general questions about physical pain. Secondly, there is the Digital Guardian™ which applies wearable and video motion capture components to monitor and correct unsafe movements to prevent workplace injury. Finally, there is The Academy, which is a unique blend of Masterclasses and customizable educational content. This has established SWORD as the most innovative and personalized digital MSK program today.
SWORD is providing tangible clinical outcomes to drive healthier, happier lives for individuals, and meaningful cost-savings for customers – a winning approach.
