Website designed to help children learn and cope with Covid-19

Portuguese publishing company “Ideias com História”, launched the CoronaKids website with several resources designed to teach children and young teenagers about the new coronavirus and the Covid-19 pandemic. The website received the support of the Portuguese Directorate-General of Health and all the resources are being developed according to their official guidelines.

At the CoronaKids website kids can find useful information about the virus and the disease it causes, as well as games, videos and other activities they can do at home.
There are also several books, available for free at the website, designed to help children cope with the Covid-19 pandemic. Titles include “My grandma has coronavirus”, that addresses the situation of a loved-one being infected, and “My mom is a doctor and I miss her already", which tells the story of a little girl having to deal with her mother’s absence, as she is working hard to fight the pandemic.

On the website, there’s the following message: “We all know that it’s not easy to be confined in small places for such a long time. It’s a bummer, yes. But if we all comply with the guidelines from the Directorate-General of Health it’s easier to win this fight agains the virus. We will try to keep you informed about this disease, called Covid-19, and we’ll fight together to beat this virus that’s making our lives so complicated.”
