Bagpipes to help with Cystic Fibrosis

Ana Duarte 于 2016-05-16 11:29 分享

About the solution

After visiting Scotland with his family, the boy got so much interested in this country that he joined a Highland band, in 2015.

"He is just obsessed with Scotland and the bagpipes were not something we ever considered would benefit his health, but his breathing has improved since he has been playing", the boy’s mother, Victoria, explained.

Vincent still has to have regular respiratory physiotherapy and to take daily medication.

All of this came as a surprise. “We didn't have a clue that the bagpipes would help his breathing. I had no idea if he'd be too weak to play them - I didn't know if he'd have enough puff”, his mother said.

Rays of Sunshine, a charity which helps makes dreams come true for children with serious health problems, gave Vincent his set of bagpipes.

Vincent has been learning to play the pipes with the Peterborough Highland Pipe Group since March 2015 and despite his health problems he is described as being a "very happy" boy.
