I am developing a solution to detect concussions using the motion tracking and voice recognition power of the the Microsoft Kinect. This solution tests reaction time, memory, and general cognitive ability of the patient being tested. Then, through the power of machine learning, the test can predict if the patient is actually concussed. The project will eventually expand so that it can put in a portable unit for use to test at sporting events, in ambulances and even medical helicopters. There is also a system being developed for doctors to view the progress of a patients recovery over time.
