A major problem of Laryngectomees are the secretions caused by the lungs. These can be particularly annoying if the tracheostoma is not adequately protected by cannula or a filter cloth that takes the place of the filter. I had and have many problems with this situation despite use scarf during the day and cannula with filter to sleep. My secretions are thick and extremely difficult to remove or loosen the trachea. The solution I found was the nebulized compressed air device using saline.
