Students create removable thermal pockets

A splendid group of young adults from JUNITEC - Junior Enterprises of the Higher Technical Institute gave me a hand. They developed a project for almost a year: removable thermal pockets. These pockets (attached images) are heated by a thermal pad that reacts to electricity, with power supplied by a power bank. Its aim is to turn the war against the cold - a feature very much felt by people with CMT, especially when it comes to distal limbs like feet and hands. It's a seemingly small project, but it greatly improves the quality of life of a patient.

Boy plays the piano to cope with his disease

In my case, I believe that playing the piano in moderation, abiding by some rules, has helped maintain my hands' independence as it provides daily exercise. At the end of each hour, I rest for periods of ten minutes, so it doesn't become a strenuous exercise.
