Expecting parents develop a solution for medication management

Shared by annakk on 2024-08-07 10:45

About the solution

As we were preparing for the arrival of our first child, the excitement of becoming parents was overshadowed by a nagging anxiety. With all the physical changes, keeping track of medications and vitamins felt like a daunting task. We’d often felt overwhelmed by the number of pills we had to manage. Each missed dose felt like a small failure, and we couldn't shake the worry that it might impact our baby's health.

That’s when we came up with Pillbie, our own smart medication box solution designed to make pill management easier. With a circular smart container (see below) and a mobile app, Pillbie helps track and store my pills while reminding me when it’s time to take my therapy. It even keeps an inventory of my pills and reminds me to get my prescriptions on time. This solution also provides analytics that I can share with my doctor or caretakers, which enables i.e. parents of young adults and teenagers to follow up on their child's therapy, even when they don't live in the same household.
After we had worked out most details of our solution, we just needed to find the right team to work on the execution with us. This is when 2 hardware and 2 software engineers joined our team, to realize our vision.

This system turns what used to be a stressful task into a seamless part of patients everyday routine. We have high expectations for our solution to be a relief for younger audiences dealing with chronic illnesses, mental health therapies, or even those with ADHD. Managing medications can be tough, and having a clear, smart solution like Pillbie makes all the difference.
