Casa do Cuidar is a non-profit social organisation with a platform that focuses on practicing and teaching Palliative Care, which provides comprehensive care to patients and their families who are facing serious illnesses that threaten the continuity of life. Patient care is provided free of charge and can be performed either in hospitals or in the comfort of their own homes.
The goal is to contribute to educating society about the importance of human dignity in the face of the finite nature of life, as well as to train highly qualified professionals who can provide comprehensive care to patients and their families who are facing life-threatening illnesses. By doing so, Casa do Cuidar aims to expand access to and improve the quality of palliative care assistance in both Brazil and Portugal.
The mission of Casa do Cuidar is to achieve excellence in the practice and teaching of Palliative Care, and to promote the dissemination of this knowledge to both society and healthcare professionals. The organisation aims to provide effective care and relief to suffering in all its dimensions related to life-threatening illnesses, ensuring that patients receive adequate and satisfactory treatment."
