The Haberman Feeder- a mum's invention

Shared by Carolina Piedade on 2022-05-06 10:26

About the solution

When her daughter was born with feeding difficulties, Mandy noticed a gap in the market. When looking around for any feeding bottle or teet that could accommodate her daughter's impaired sucking ability, she noticed that there wasn't any good solution for it. This is the perfect example of necessity being the mother of all inventions, and with this drive in her, Mandy invented The Haberman Feeder.

This type of bottle enables the feeder to be activated by tongue and gum pressure rather than the sucking itself (like in the usual bottles). This bottle also allows for the air to be squeezed out of the nipple, preventing heartburn and gastric reflux in the newborn, while also the slit valve prevents the rush of milk to the nipple, which prevents choking.

Due to its capacity for problem solving , this bottle can be used for feeding babies with severe feeding problems such as Down Syndrome, cleft lip/palate, Pierre Robin syndrome, neurological dysfunction, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, congenital heart disease, genetic disorders, disorganized sucking problems, excessive air intake during feeding and oral and facial abnormalities.
