Über die Lösung
Während des Ausbruchs von Covid-19 ging Wyn Griffiths Frau ins Krankenhaus und stellte fest, dass es trotz sorgfältiger Händewaschung nicht möglich war, das Berühren von Türgriffen zu vermeiden. Als Griffiths erkannte, dass Türgriffe ein potenzielles Infektionsmittel sind, entwickelte er eine Lösung und entwarf einen Freisprech-Türgriff, mit dem Personen Türen nur mit den Armen öffnen können.
Das Design ist universell und kann problemlos an jedem vorhandenen Türgriff befestigt werden. Die Datei zum Drucken dieses Geräts ist online verfügbar und kann kostenlos heruntergeladen werden.
Griffith sagt, dies sei sein "kleiner Beitrag, um die Ausbreitung des Virus zu verlangsamen" und hofft, dass "Menschen, die einen 3D-Drucker haben, ihrem örtlichen Krankenhaus oder überall dort, wo die Öffentlichkeit besucht, helfen können, indem sie diese verteilen".
