About the solution
Andrew trying a lot of different things to relieve the pain in his heel. Since nothing was working, he decided to take action.
So, in partnership with Clarkson University’s Shipley Center for Innovation, he came up with FootRest Pillow.
Andrew found a company to cut foam and then asked Facebook friends, who also struggle with foot pain, to test the prototype. “Based on their positive feedback, I saw an opportunity to bring relief to many people who suffer from foot and heel pain”, the inventor explained.
Then brought his idea to Clarkson University’s Shipley Center for Innovation. Here, he received help regarding market research, brand development, and patent and trademark application filings.
“I knew that I needed help with brand development, incorporation and patenting,” he said. And the Shipley Center did just that. They focused on the nuts and bolts of stimulating and encouraging innovation. Only the creative spirit can birth ideas, but you need guidance to raise them to full potential”, Andrew noted.
“This product is innovative and helps solve a problem for thousands of people. We’re proud to aid in its development,” said Ashley Sweeney, Associate Director of the Shipley Center.
The inventor now aims to bring FootRest Pillow to a national market level. For now, the device can be bought at Kinney Drugs in New York and Vermont, USA.
