Azai Bionic Arm

About the solution

Azai Bionic Arms are 3D printed robotic hands/arms designed for amputees who can not afford the cost of today's prosthesis. Between the Hackberry arms and the Azai Bionic Arms(my own design) I have developed quite a few different options that is customizable based on the amputees specific situation/needs being able to keep the cost between $700 to $2,000 dollars depending on which arm is provided, compared to the $20,000 on the very very low end and up cost of an average prosthetic is an amazing alternative for children and adults that can perform everyday task. The hands are donated to people in need by raising money in a group effort between myself and the user or can be bought outright by a particular user, researchers, or developers. I have also donated hands directly out of pocket, but due to the amount of people requesting I can no longer afford to do it on my own, so I am always seeking donations and investors. Updates will continuously be uploaded to my facebook page in order for everyone to stay update with what I am doing including those who have received a hand/arm however some people request not to be shown so at their request I always respect their privacy and will not post any pictures or videos of them. Please feel free to contact me through my page for any questions or information you may have or need.

About the author

My name is Justin. I am a mechanical Engineer who stumbled into 3d printing for fun which in turn I came across the hackberry hands which is an open source product that I built just for fun. During the process of building the Hackberry a news feed from someone seeking help for her brother who lost both his hands due to frostbite came across my page so I decided to donate the Hackberry hand to him. I at this point wanted more options as more people starting contacting me therefore led into me designing the Azai bionic arm that could provide more, although the Hackberry is still a great design.
