A friend with ALS had difficulty holding and maneuvering his tableware. In the attached file, “Tableware for Handicapped Eaters”, which I posted on Instructables.com you can see how to add fatter and longer handles to forks, knives and spoons using empty silicone rubber cartridges. Just heat the conical tip of the cartridge to soften it and jam it over the handles of the tableware. The plastic stretches and then locks on tight when it cools.
