Man with Parkinson’s disease creates app for people with neurodegenerative diseases

Inês Mémeteau 于 2018-04-05 16:26 分享

About the solution

When Olivier Dez was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, in 2015, he had the idea to create an application for people with the same condition. The app, called Zenaïde, was developed by DCO Media +.

This application was created to help patients and caregivers in the management of these difficult to treat diseases (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis …). It is intended primarily to treat emergencies (crisis, paralysis, etc.) anywhere in the world, provided there is an Internet or mobile network. It also manages medical appointments and treatments. The application helps to manage medication use through a digital pillbox, the patient record, links with the team, and appointments. It offers an integrated forum that solicits the community of sick people and their caregivers. The application, sold as a monthly subscription (less than 3 euros after the first 30 free days), is translated into three languages: French, English, Spanish and is accessible from a smartphone, a tablet or a connected watch. It is only available for Android. Olivier created, in 2017, a crowdfunding campaign to help develop this app.

For Olivier Dez, Zenaïde is “a personal digital assistant for the support of people with neurodegenerative diseases and their caregivers. An application that can handle the urgent and everyday, to which they can refer permanently to find support.”

"Zénaïde is constantly improving thanks to the experience of its members, and aims to reduce the loneliness of the sick person and his caregivers in the face of disabilities", continues Olivier Dez.

关于发明者

Olivier Dez, born in 1960, had the idea to create Zenaïde’s, an app for people with neurodegenerative diseases that helps them manage their meds and communicate with other patients. He decided to commit to this project when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2015. He wanted to personally manage his disease on a daily basis so he searched for a mobile app that could help him at all times. Since Olivier couldn’t find anything and since he was very interested in new technologies, he quit his job to fully commit to the Zenaïde project.
