About the solution
Revision was born out of the necessity to make exercise available to everyone, even if blind.
When Tyler Merren was born, he was soon diagnosed with an eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa, which meant that he would eventually become totally blind in his mid 20's. Despite the multiple challenges his life imposed on him, he became a personal trainer with a bachelor's in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University, all while competing for the USA Paralympic Team in 4 different Paralympic Games, and even winning a Bronze and a Silver medal for his home country. Throughout his years of competing and studying, he realized that there was a group of people that were being left behind, the blind. When thinking about it, people who are visually impaired, although they are able to access all the apps for fitness, the YouTube channels dedicated to exercise, or the treadmills at their fitness center, all these things become inaccessible instantly, as they are not able to see the exercise itself or the machine specifics.
That is until the ReVision Fitness Program was developed, as a totally audio/text-based fitness training program. It breaks down those barriers and gives people who are blind or visually impaired fair access to fitness knowledge, workouts, plans, and more, in order to promote a healthier and more fit lifestyle for all. This program is currently available on IOS, Google Play, and the Web.
It's never been more important than today to have access to good instruction for fitness in order to improve health and making it available to everyone and anyone, with a disability or not, is what Tyler and his team are trying to achieve with Revision.
